The Astrophotography is a challenging field and the use of CCD cameras for this subject has increased manifolds because these are inexpensive and more appealing. The CCD cameras which can be used efficaciously for the Astrophotography are Consumer Digital Cameras, CCD Web Cams, Digital Video Cameras and CCD AstroCams. However, some CCD cameras are more prone to noise and other interferences and as the consequence of which you would get the blurred images or images with the lower resolution and low pixels.
The digital video cameras are used like the digital cameras, but they offer the wide range of limitations for capturing the single frame images. While selecting the CCD cameras for the Astrophotography certain options must be considered like:
- Resolution
If you wish to print the captured images, then it is preferred to use the cameras with the lower megapixels, instead of reducing the resolution of images.
- Accessories
You must have the chargers to boost up the batteries, serial or data cable connected to your desktop and remote shutter control to prevent the shaking of your telescope.
- Memory
The size of memory will depend significantly on the format in which you sore the captured images.
